Overview

CHRiKA designed to immerse participants in the vibrant cultural and traditional events of Pakistan, celebrating the country’s rich tapestry of heritage, rituals, and regional expressions. The journey highlights the most colorful and spiritually significant events first, such as Lohri, where communities in Punjab gather around fire to honor the harvest and the enduring bonds of family and society. In Chitral, Chilam Joshi marks the arrival of spring with deeply spiritual ceremonies, prayers, and rituals that connect participants with nature, renewal, and local ancestral traditions. Nowruz, celebrated in Gilgit-Baltistan and northern regions, welcomes the new year through communal reflection, regional dances, and the sharing of symbolic foods that honor harmony and rebirth. Holi and Diwali are experienced not just as festivals of color and light, but as spiritual and cultural expressions of regional identity—Holi in certain northern and central communities celebrates the victory of goodness, the arrival of spring, and interconnectedness, while Diwali in Sindh and Punjab embodies local rituals, ancestral remembrance, and the interplay of light and shadow in daily life. Participants also witness vibrant Sindhi Ajrak fairs, Balochistan tribal gatherings, and nomadic celebrations where dance, folk rituals, and storytelling honor generations of tradition. Throughout these events, CHRiKA ensures travelers engage meaningfully—through reflection, local rituals, participation, and dialogue—allowing them to experience Pakistan’s cultural heritage as a living, spiritual, and regional phenomenon. More than a tour of festivals, CHRiKA transforms the journey into an exploration of identity, community, and the enduring spirit of regional traditions across the country.
